The Lowrance HOOK-5 is a fishfinder/chart plotter that offers proven features at a great value without compromising the quality anglers have come to expect from Lowrance.

Are you tired of planning a big trip to the lake only to come home empty handed? The Lowrance Hook 5 could be just what you are looking for to change your luck.  Whether you are on the lakes and rivers, in a bay, or ice fishing, you can increase your odds with Lowrance fish finders.

It worked for me. I had been fishing a lot at Lake Tahoe and coming home empty handed more than not. Once I started using a fish finder like the Lowrance Hook 5, my luck changed.  They have become an integral part of my fishing gear.

Just check out a couple of the Mackinaw I caught on Lake Tahoe during my last trip. I didn’t show my wife’s catch. She out fished me that day but if you tell anyone I will deny it. 🙂

You will love the multi-colored screen for its ability to help you discern what a fish is and what is just debris on the bottom of the lake.

The HOOK-5x combines the benefits of CHIRP Sonar and Downscan Imaging technology to give you a clear and complete view of all the fish and structures below your boat. Its high-performance sonar gives you excellent target separation enabling you to see the baitfish and game fish targets you are seeking.

The Lowrance Navico Hook 5 comes with a brilliant high resolution 5″ display that is easy to see in all kinds of light. The one thumb navigation and multi-window display make it the easiest marine electronics for anyone to use.

It comes with superior sonar sensitivity with both Chirp technology and Sonar plus which combines the best of fish finding technology. Combine that with the ability to overlay both signals on one screen, and the advanced signal processing reduces the need to adjust the settings to see the fish manually, makes it a very accurate fish finder. You will find a multitude of fish targets beneath your boat.

Bottom Line

The people who have purchased the Lowrance Hook 5 love it. One customer even went as far as to say it was smarter than they were.

The only negative remark was due to confusion, not a problem with the unit. They confused how screen size is calculated. It is calculated diagonally, and the screen is 5.3 inches diagonally and not 5 inches.

If you want the quality of a Lowrance fish finder but at a less expensive price point then the Lowrance Navico Hook 5 is your answer. The only significant difference between it and its bigger brother the Hook 7 is the screen size. So if you have a smaller boat, or don’t need a large display, then this is one of the best fish finder GPS combos you can get.

Thanks for reading our Lowrance Hook 5 review.
